image of Kermit Ruffins on stage Kermit Ruffins ,a international jazz composer and musician , who has morphed into a New Orleans jazz living legend since his humble beginning playing for tips in the French Quarter and Jackson Square , the heart of New Orleans , LA tourist section ,with his school's band issued trumpet in 1983 . Also, he performed in several neighborhood social pleasure clubs second-lines as well jazz funeral second-lines with his band mates before acquiring musical accolades. He helped his band mates Philip Frazier and Keith Frazier to evolved their music hobby and hustle into a Grammy award winning brass band called “Rebirth Brass Band” which produced songs that have been featured in movies and frequently played on Urban radio in New Orleans. Kermit standout singing chorus and trumpet solo on Rebirth Brass Band titled tracks “Do What You Wanna “ and "Feel Like Funkin It Up” a song featured in the 1992 movie “ Boomerang “ enabled him to capture and grow an exceptional musical fan base and launch a successful solo musical career in 1993 which includes plenty of CD releases . He is regularly sought after to perform in big festival throughout the year. You could definitely count on him performing at the annual New Orleans Jazz Heritage festival with his band the BBQ Swingers. He still captures those intimate humble beginning performances when he gigs at the Mother In Law lounge , Bulllet's sport bar and Little Gem Saloon in New Orleans, LA .
image of Kermit Ruffins on stage Darryl “Big Chief” Montanta of the Yellow Pocahontas gave anticipating spectators of Madri Gras revilers , national and local media outlets a revealing of excellence , artistic and innovation when he walked through the front of door of his family home on to the front porch on Mardi Gras day on March 1 , 2022. He was dressed in an all white feather suit from head to toe and from back to front. The suit was embossed in diamond shape rhinestones. His suit was amazing from all angles. He was oblige and proud of letting photographers capture those intricate details from those angles of his amazing suit. As people witness his phenomenal fabric of art , they could not resist of giving the Darryl Big Chief compliments and praises. One spectators said that he definitely looked pretty in from front and pretty in the back.

Kid Merv ,a traditional and modern jazz trumpet player from New Orleans,La , who music mentors and teachers include New Orleans legends Anthony Tuba Fats Lacen , Danny Barker his Fairview band director that later headed the Roots of Jazz which Merv became a member, Edwin Hampton , Merv band instructor while attending St. Augustine high school . He received his first vocal lesson from his mother Millie Campbell a gospel signer. Kid begin being expose and learning traditional New Orleans jazz while playing the trumpet with the Junior Olympian brass band as a kid . He currently has a newly release CD entitled " Body Soul" that features traditional jazz covers like "What A Wonderful World" featuring Ellis Marsalis on piano and also original tracks like "Jazz Funeral" featuring poet Chuck Perkins . You can hear Kid Merv performing songs from his current CD live at The Worlds Famous Ray's On The Ave 1139 St. Bernard Ave. New Orleans, LA every Tuesday from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm while enjoying stake and potato top with cream sauce and crab meat for only $8.00 prepared by chef Ray.

James Andrews brings the fun of Treme' on the” Red Beans Ricely Your Stage” at the 2016 Satchmo SummerFest. He dazzled the audience with his foot work , electrifying trumpet playing solo and soulful vocals. He turned his time on stage to one big party with his Crescent City All-star band and with the Treme Million Dollars Baby Dolls. He led a second line on the ground of the festival inside of Jackson Square which concluded the 2016 Satchmo SummerFest.

OOH POO PAH DOO bar is named in tribute to the late New Orleans R&B multifaceted musician Jesse Hill. The bar takes its name from his 1960 hit released song "OOH POO PAH DOO". This is the place where James Andrews and the Crescent City All Stars host an entertaining , fun, cozy and festive musical set that explores the genres of New Orleans traditional jazz, blues,funk,RB , zydeco and of course New Orleans indignant brass band music. The music will have you reaching for the ceiling for a decorative umbrella for a second line around the club. On Monday , you can indulge in a hot plate of well seasoned red beans and rice for free . Admission is free to experience a taste of carnival time earlier at the “POO PAH DOO BAR” down in the Treme'. Don't be surprise if you catch Grammy nominee jazz musician Trombone Shorty appearing on the set playing drums. That's right!
